Unraveling

I begin unraveling

Each time you speak

It feels like friction

or rug burn

skinned knees

a searing pain

when your lips part

yet I cannot scream

I continue to hold the weight

that even gravity refuses to carry

I watch myself

unfold

my edges no longer hold shapes

Your eyes see right through me

am I translucent?

perhaps just transparent

what will I do

when all there is left

is tangled yarn
